Museum of Glass, Washington is dedicated to the medium of glass art located in Tacoma, Washington. This Museum of Glass was designed by the acclaimed Canadian architect Arthur Erickson. Museum of Glass, Washington was opened in July of 2002 and is located near the University of Washington Tacoma in downtown. The museum is linked to downtown Tacoma via the Bridge of Glass. The bridge consists of thousands of glass-art masterpieces created by Chihuly to make up the Venetian Wall, Seaform Pavilion and Crystal Towers.
The Museum of Glass, Washington exhibits a conical building, which houses the glass blowing demonstrations. There were also several other outdoor exhibits including the Water Forest, reflecting pools and a waterfront promenade. This museum provides a dynamic learning environment to appreciate the medium of glass through creative experiences, collections and wonderful glass exhibitions.

The Museum’s Visiting Artist Program invites internationally known artists and emerging artists from the region and around the world to work with the Museum’s resident Hot Shop Team. The team helps to explore, invent and create things with glass. The museum also gives artists an opportunity to experiment and push the limits of their work.
The Museum of Glass invites artists for week-long residencies and shorter residencies, usually on Mondays and Tuesdays in the summer and Fridays the rest of the year. The museum offers many programs for the public that include from lectures to interpretive dance and original plays to family-friendly art activities.
There is a Museum Store that is located right at the front of the Museum of Glass and features distinctive merchandise in a variety of categories and prices. The Gallucci’s Glass Café is now open at the Museum of Glass that offers a selection of salads, sandwiches and weekly specials, including homemade soups and tamales.
